Guide Books

The introduction of the travel guide books was another product of the Victorian travel era. Travel guides evolved from previous centuries' traveller accounts to become the predominant form of tourist information and literature in the nineteenth and early twentieth century.

They provided useful information to travellers as to where to stay, eat, and visit during their journeys. Today guide books continue to provide tourists with useful travel advice to help them become more informed travellers.
